technique and style
A lot of people ask about my technique and style. I think your style is limited by your ability or lack of ability to master a technique. I enjoy painting impressionistic style using thick, slow drying oil paint and applying it with pallet knives. Despite the obvious drawbacks of working with oil paint, I love what can be achieved by working from start to finish with wet oil paint often times being surprised and amazed at the results of working with colours as they mix and blend into each other on the canvas. Sometimes I like to let the painting flow and let it do what it will do without trying to force my will upon it. Painting with oil paint always ends up with a thick texture and rich coloured finish. I rarely paint with a brush. Most of my work is painted with 7 different pallet knives. Artists that have inspired me are Prosper De Roover, Rolf Harris, Claude Monet, Charles F Goldie and Andy Warhol.
